Granville Capital is a privately-owned, SEC Registered Investment Advisor that specializes in providing managed portfolios of alternative investment strategies for high-net-worth individuals, families, not-for-profits, and other institutional investors. In addition, Granville Capital manages an investment-driven family office limited to a select number of clients.

Granville Capital serves as the investment manager and general partner for several funds of hedge funds and various private equity funds. The goal of Granville Capital is to provide investors with exceptional risk-adjusted returns with a focus on capital preservation and long-term wealth accumulation. The Granville Capital team has a multi-decade track record of managing alternative investment strategies.

Pearce Landry, Partner & Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Landry serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Granville Capital, Inc. and has over 25 years of principal investing experience. He currently oversees Granville Capital's funds of hedge funds and their private equity strategy which he started in 2004. Prior to joining Granville Capital in 2004, Mr. Landry was first an Analyst, then an Associate, and finally a Partner with the private equity firm First Union Capital Partners (and its successor Wachovia Capital Partners) from 1995 until 2003. While there, Mr. Landry specialized in energy and telecommunications investments, serving as an advisor and board member for portfolio companies. Mr. Landry attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar and graduated Phi Beta Kappa earning his BS in Biology (with Highest Distinction) and a Minor in Chemistry in 1995.

RYAN NEWKIRK, Partner

Mr. Newkirk is a senior leader for the family office and overall business. In addition, Mr. Newkirk serves as a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Granville Capital, Mr. Newkirk was a Managing Director at Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he served as primary relationship manager for high net worth and ultra-high net worth families. Previously, he served families in a similar leadership role at US Trust. Mr. Newkirk has over twenty-one years of wealth management and financial services experience. Mr. Newkirk graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2001 from Campbell University with a BS in Business Administration (concentration in Trust and Wealth Management) and earned his MBA from Campbell’s Lundy Fetterman School of Business. He was awarded Campbell University’s Distinguished Young Alumni Award in 2008.

Skip Purcell, Partner & Chief COMPLIANCE Officer

Mr. Purcell serves as a member of the Investment Committee and is an integral part of the team that selects and monitors hedge fund managers for Granville Capital’s funds of hedge funds. He also serves as the Chief Compliance Officer of Granville Capital, Inc. and oversees the operational and compliance functions of the business.  Prior to joining Granville Capital, Mr. Purcell worked as a Research and Strategy Specialist at BB&T and focused on corporate strategy and risk management.  Previously, he worked for Hatteras Funds where he focused on alternative asset investment research.  Mr. Purcell began his career with KPMG and was responsible for leading various engagements in the financial services audit practice.  Mr. Purcell graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Business Administration (with Distinction) in 2006 and a Master of Accounting in 2007.  In addition, he attended the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, earning an MBA degree in 2012.  He obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2014.

Michael Dinkins, Partner

Mr. Dinkins serves as a member of the Investment Committee and is an integral part of the team that selects and monitors hedge fund managers for Granville Capital’s funds of hedge funds.  Mr. Dinkins’ responsibilities include sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring investments, as well as the supervision of the analysis and preparation of the quantitative information that supports our processes. Prior to joining Granville Capital, Mr. Dinkins served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy from 2013 until 2016.  Mr. Dinkins graduated in 2013 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Business Administration. He is a CFA charterholder and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Chad LyNaM, Partner & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Mr. Lynam is the Chief Financial Officer of Granville Capital, Inc. and leads the accounting, financial reporting and analysis, treasury, and taxation functions of the business, including overseeing related technology and internal controls. Mr. Lynam also serves as a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Granville Capital, Mr. Lynam spent twelve years at PwC, primarily focused on providing assurance services to a wide array of clients, including U.S. subsidiaries of internationally listed companies, large privately-held businesses, and private equity portfolio companies in various industries. Mr. Lynam graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in Business Administration in 2008 and a Master of Science in Accounting in 2009. In addition, Mr. Lynam holds a CPA license in the State of North Carolina.

Steve Hassenfelt, Chairman

Mr. Hassenfelt is the Chairman of Granville Capital, Inc. and has over 30 years of experience in the investment management business. He was the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of NCT Opportunities, Inc., a subsidiary of U.S. Trust Corporation specializing in hedge fund advisory services. During his career, he has served in senior executive positions with N.C. Trust Company (which he co-founded in 1983) and its successor U.S. Trust Company of North Carolina as well as U.S. Trust Corporation in New York. From October 2000 to June 2003, Mr. Hassenfelt founded and managed the Excelsior Hedge Fund of Funds I, L.L.C. for U.S. Trust. Mr. Hassenfelt graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1972 with a BS in Business and from Wake Forest University Law School in 1976 with a JD.
